The “Harappa” on the 4th Floor

Harappa, meaning “grass field” in Japanese, is a free-to-enter space with a theme of sustainability. At the heart of the floor is a striking art installation called “The Bonfire of the Sun,” a red, sun-like object surrounded by chairs and benches, making it an ideal spot to rest your feet. These seating options are crafted from sustainable materials such as thinned wood and recycled fabrics, perfectly complementing the eco-friendly theme.

The floor also features art inspired by nature, including sculptures of trees and grass, creating a calm and comfortable atmosphere. Additionally, a projection mapping installation allows visitors to “walk on water,” a playful attraction that appeals to both children and adults.

On one side of the floor is HARAKADO CAFE, where you can enjoy coffee, matcha, and other refreshments. Managed by a renowned Kyoto restaurant, the café offers a mix of traditional Japanese flavors and modern delights, including matcha-based drinks, azuki sweets, and Western-style sweets like pound cakes and cookies. Options like milk or oat milk make it family-friendly for visitors with young kids.

If you’re looking for a more chilling and casual dining experience, head to the 6th floor. This level also features a terrace with a staircase leading to the 7th-floor observation deck. For a memorable photo, stand on the higher steps and capture the view of the Jingumae intersection below.
