Muslim-Friendly Travel Guide: Exploring Tokyo’s Asakusa, Tokyo Station, and Ginza

I created this muslim-friendly trip idea for a Muslim friend visiting Tokyo. Her positive feedback inspired me to share this list with more travelers. It’s true that not all restaurants in Tokyo have halal menus or signs, but the number of halal and Muslim-friendly restaurants is gradually increasing, making the city more welcoming to Muslim travelers.

Asakusa is a bustling district known for the historic Sensouji Temple. You’ll find numerous souvenir shops along Nakamise Street leading up to the temple gate. Don’t miss the observation terrace at the tourist information center on the 8th floor, which offers a great view of the temple and surrounding area.

Tokyo Sky Tree is the tallest structure in Tokyo, offering stunning panoramic views of the city. Even if you don’t go up to the observatory, the shopping complex from the 1st to 3rd floors is a great place for souvenirs. A prayer room is available on the 1st floor.

The Imperial Palace has been the residence of Japan’s Emperors since 1868. While entry to the residence itself is restricted, the surrounding grounds offer a pleasant walk. It’s an ideal spot to explore while waiting for the bus tour.

Bus Tours Two companies offer 1-hour bus tours around Tokyo with open-top double-decker buses, perfect for sunny days. Online reservations are recommended.
